Radiologists often have to look at CT (Computed Tomography) data to detect cancers or infectious diseases. CT data are special X-ray images that, together with the aid of a computer, give information about the cross section of a specific body part (e.g. organ, knee, head) of the patient. This large amount of information is often difficult for the radiologists to deal with. A computer program that can read in these data and generate the 3D view of the body part, giving the radiologists the ability to visualise the data, would significantly cut down the time taken in diagnostics. The video here shows the reconstruction of the face and the skull displayed together.
