Computer
vision conferences
To get a regular update of conferences on, and related to, computer
vision, check the following websites:
Below are computer vision conferences held in and around
Australia. Because of the geographical distance between Australia
and the rest of the world, these conferences are less costly for us to
attend.
- ACCV - Asian Conference on Computer Vision. Held biennially
in Asia (e.g. ACCV'00 in Hong Kong, ACCV'02 in Melbourne, ACCV'04 in
Korea). Single blind review but maintains a good standard.
Suitable for PhD candidates in the middle/end of their research years.
- AI - Artificial Intelligence conference. Held annually in
Australia. Accept papers in both Computer Vision and in many
other areas. May not be so suitable if your main intention
is to meet people working in computer vision.
- DICTA - Digital Image Computing: Techniques and
Applications. Held biennially in Australia. Single
blind review. A conference suitable for PhD candidates at their very early
research profile.
- ICARCV - International Conference on Automation, Robotics, and
Computer Vision. Single blind review. Accept papers outside
the Computer Vision area also. Suitable also for early PhD
candidates.
- IVCNZ - Image and Vision Computing at New Zealand.
Held annually in New Zealand. Single blind review. Another
conference suitable for early PhD candidates.
Regular international computer vision conferences usually held
further away from Australia:
- ECCV - European Conference on Computer Vision. Held
biennially in Europe. A very high quality research
conference. The review process is double blind.
Suitable for substantial / high quality research work.
- ICCV - International Conference on Computer Vision. Held
biennially around the world. Also a very high
quality research conference. The review process is double blind.
Suitable for substantial / high quality research work.
- CVPR - Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition. Held
biennially in the US. High quality conference. Double blind review.
Suitable for substantial / high quality research work.
- ICPR - International Conference on Pattern Recognition.
Held biennially around the world. Single blind review. Much
less competitive as ECCV, ICCV, CVPR, etc. Suitable for PhD
candidates in their early research years.
- ICIP - International Conference on Image Processing.
- ICIAP - International Conference on Image Analysis and Processing.
- etc
There are also many smaller conferences and workshops held at
various times each year. Some are not widely advertised but
most can be found via the links given above.
