PhD in Computer ScienceWell, as you can see I also chosen to do a PhD course. I'm still studying at UWA and I'm still doing graphics. :)Hopefully I'll finish in about 2008. My PhD ProjectSince my Honours project was on water, I initially wanted to do some graphics related topic on marine animals. Well, after about 1-2 months of research, I realised that animating and rendering marine life has been already quite exhausted.However, during my research into marine life modeling, I stumbled upon the modeling of plant life, and vegetation. A lot of the work looked really realistic, however I also noticed there wasn't much work on the actual real-time rendering of these beautiful models. And that's where my project fits in. My project is geared towards developing a method to efficiently render and animate plant models as well as providing a certain degree of realism. The videos produced for the project be found here.
