I use to have a page with links at useful stuff on it, but
that was before Google and
Raging were invented.
Instead, here is a eclection of stuff I've accreted over
the years that has sentimental value.
- George Orwell's essay
"Politics and the English Language" Hmm, these days I'm
coming around to the view that there is no real misuse
of language, except if you communicate slowley or don't achive
the desired meaning in your audience's head. When a public figure
evades, distracts, charms and leaves us none the wiser while
sounding important, he is employing language with skill. I think
language like that is "bad" in a moral sense, not in a technical
or artistic sense.
- Masamune Shirow on tanks.
- Iain M. Banks on the Culture.
- Some images stolen from here an there.
