Welcome to my web pages. These should probably have some amazing hard hitting
factual and useful information on them, but that would be far too conventional, so I'm
afraid you'll have to follow this demented wander through my psyche instead.
I'm currently employed as a Systems Administrator for Computer Science at the University of Western Australia. Up until May 1st 2002 I was the Systems Admin for the Centre for Water Research, also at UWA, however the support contract expired and so I migrated to fulltime work for Computer Science. I do not spend all my time in Computer Science I also do on-demand support for the Faculty of Engineering, Computing and Maths, the Australian Centre for Geomechanics and the West Australian Supercomputing Project. I am also backup support for Maths and also CWR (again). You could say I get around a lot. Previously I worked at DOLA (Department of Land Administration) also as a systems administrator and earlier still I began my illustrious career at Eastern Hills Senior High School as a technician cum anything electronic related.
My own technical notes are available on my tech page. Another set of pages I host here are the highlights from a world trip I made in 2001. They are available here. I've just finished putting up my other trip photos. I finally got around to putting up the photos from my 2002 trip. They can be found here. In June 2006, I got to go to Switzerland for training on the new Cray Supercomputer before attending the CUG conference. Afterwards I took holidays and did a tour of Europe. As usual, I took lots of photos to document the trip. In 2010 I headed back to Europe for first a tour of the former Communist states, then went to a family reunion in Ireland before heading across the US to Japan, because if you're going to travel, you may as well make the most of it. A fraction of the photos I took can be found here |
